Our Vision

Creating a receptive and supportive community that recognizes the benefits of welcoming and
including the diverse population of refugees.
A community that recognizes and accepts the economic necessity and social value and of a vibrant and diverse community.
Creating economic opportunities for women refugees and their families through our network of business and civic leaders in the Tampa
St Petersburg area that hire, coach, and mentor our clients, allowing them to successfully join our community and become
        Great American Citizens

WeAre is designed to work hand in hand with traditional resettlement services, by continuing to invest time, money, and services in this most vulnerable of populations beyond the 90-day window. This will empower resettlers to access higher-paying jobs and creating economic development for the community that sponsors them.

Traditional refugee resettlement programs provide critical support to incoming refugees however, their programs typically only provide support for the first 90 days in the county.

Refugees going from zero to self-sufficient in this period is out of reach for single-parent families. The cost of child care can easily outpace their ability to earn income.

Additionally, many of these refugees are dealing with significant personal and family trauma. PTSD and grief counseling, legal help with the immigration issues, and potentially unwelcoming community all add to the stresses placed on the refugees as they transition to a new culture, a new job, and a new life in America.

Without further assistance, many refugees will become and remain low wage earners dependent on social programs for

many years, depressing wage and tax growth, robbing the community of the benefits of sponsoring and supporting resettlement programs.

Moving the family from a poverty-level existence to an income that affords their children a better developmental environment, education, and breaking the generational cycle of poverty before it has a chance to begin, raising the economic status of the entire community.

We believe all women can embrace who they are,
can define their future, and can change the world.
